Jimma University is a public research university located in Jimma, Ethiopia and is recognized as the leading national university as ranked by the Federal Ministry of Education from 2009-2012. Jimma University is one of the largest and most comprehensive public research universities in Africa. It is highly committed to pioneering concepts, as reflected in its motto, “we are in the community.” The university was initially founded based on the concept of Community-Based Education (CBE) and throughout its history, the university has been committed to this scheme and almost all curriculum are based on CBE programs.
Dr. Gelila Goba, the director of the Global Women’s Health Fellowship, completed her medical education at Jimma University and has stayed connected with the institution by collaborating on current research projects.
