Biography

Stephanie Tillman is a certified nurse-midwife at the Mile Square Health Center-Back of the Yards location. Ms. Tillman works intentionally on Chicago’s South Side to bring the midwifery model of care to high-need populations, particularly Spanish-speaking Chicagoans. Her clinical interests include patient-centered and -empowered care; shared decision making; trauma-informed pelvic care; queer healthcare; and reproductive justice. Ms. Tillman serves on the Boards of Directors for Nurses for Sexual and Reproductive Health and the Midwest Access Project, and she is the former Chair of the American College of Nurse-Midwives’ Gender Equity Task Force. She is a clinical instructor in the UIC College of Nursing.
