Neural control of motor behaviors.

About

Research Interests: Nervous system controls how and when an animal walks, runs, breathes, lies down to rest and falls asleep. A neural network controls each of these behaviors. Our goal is to understand how these neural networks develop in the embryo and neonates, map the location of its constituent neurons and to determine how changes in these neural networks correlate with diseases such as Parkinson’s, sleep apnea and insomnia.
