Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery/Physician Surgeon

The Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois Chicago, located in a large metropolitan area, is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery/Physician Surgeon to assist the department with the following responsibilities:
-- Under direction and supervision, teach, train, and advise medical students, residents, and fellows in the field of surgery and robotic surgery.
-- Provide full-time clinical care to an underserved patient population, using new technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
-- Execute interventional robotic bronchoscopies and conduct robotic surgery in the chest and upper GI (esophagus, stomach).
-- Conduct research in the field and participate in committee assignments, curriculum development, and administration as needed.
-- Other duties and University service as assigned.
No travel is required for this position. This position minimally requires an MD degree or its foreign equivalent, 6 years of general surgery residency, and a valid State of Illinois medical license or eligibility for an Illinois medical license.
