About
Dr. Shrina Parekh was born and raised in London, England and attended the University of Delaware, where she majored in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. She went on to attend medical school at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
After medical school, Dr. Parekh completed her residency at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, where she served as the Chief Resident of the Sports Medicine and Research Curriculum. During her residency she covered numerous sports, including the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team, and presented research in various disciplines of sports medicine.
Dr. Parekh was drawn to UIC for its extensive diagnostic and interventional ultrasound training and the wide breadth of hands-on sports coverage. Her interests include ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal procedures, diagnostic ultrasound, and advancing research in the field of sports medicine.
