About
Matt grew up in Mahomet, a small town near Champaign, Illinois. He earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (ILL!). Afterward, he moved to Chicago for medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Throughout his medical education, Matt continued to improve his gender-affirming and LGBTQ+ inclusive care knowledge, collaborating with specialists in this field. His additional medical interests include addiction medicine, diabetes management, and urgent care. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing volleyball, reading fantasy series, all things Star Wars, tackling crosswords, and finding the best old fashioned cocktail in Chicago.
