About
Marco was born and raised in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood of Chicago. He is the son of Ecuadorian immigrants and identifies as a first-generation college student. He attended Haverford College where he studied chemistry. After college, he briefly worked as a research assistant in a biochemistry lab at the University of Chicago. He went on to study at the University of Chicago for medical school. His interest in family medicine began as a result of his positive experiences with Spanish-speaking family medicine physicians in the city. He is excited to continue his medical training at UIC, where he can care for the underserved communities in Chicago. His hobbies outside of medicine include indoor rock climbing, weight lifting, and playing video games.
