About
Joey Brutzkus, MD grew up in the northern Chicago suburbs prior to attending the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign for his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology/Athletic Training. He worked for several years as a Certified Athletic Trainer, including an Internship with the Chicago Bears, prior to completing medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He stayed in Chicago to complete residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rush University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He was drawn to the UIC Sports Medicine program’s extensive exposure to diagnostic and interventional Ultrasound pportunities as well as the amazing people. Dr. Brutzkus’s interests include diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound guided procedures, Orthobiologics and electrodiagnostics. Outside of work, Dr. Brutzkus enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, going to concerts, watching and playing sports and enjoying summertime in Chicago.
