Our mission is to provide the highest possible state-of-the-art compassionate and respectful care to all our patients and to maintain the appropriate intellectual environment to foster and promote education and research.
Our multidisciplinary teams of experts treat children and adults in all areas of reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery. At the University of Illinois Hospital Craniofacial Center, infants, adolescents and adults presenting with various birth defects and other defects of the head and neck are treated by a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
Over 200 residents and international fellows received training through our division over the years and are currently practicing in the United States and around the world. These surgeons benefited from the vast clinical training at University of Illinois at Chicago, mastered techniques and innovations developed by faculty members and were able to have successful careers in academic institutions or in private practice.
The large number of clinical and research papers, book chapters and books published by our staff members as well as the active participation in regional, national and international meetings by members of the faculty serves as a testimony of our work toward excellence in the ever evolving specialty of plastic surgery.
