Welcome to the Division of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

The UIC Division of Pediatric Surgery has an excellent reputation for patient care, education and research. Families can rest assured that their children are in good hands as we provide pediatric surgical expertise with compassion. The pediatric surgery team is sensitive to the concerns and care of each child and we treat the family as a whole to ensure their visit to UIHHSS is an easy and comfortable experience.  We carry out all types of general surgical, thoracic and urologic procedures in infants, children and adolescents with particular expertise in laparoscopic surgery, thoracoscopic surgery, adolescent bariatric surgery, the management of children with congenital abnormalities and specialize in meeting with pregnant mothers carrying a child with a suspected birth defect.

Our practice extends over several hospitals in the Chicago-land; we see over 3,000 patients in our offices and carry out more than 2,000 surgical procedures a year. The Division is staffed by six pediatric surgeons and three nurse practitioners. We see patients at the following hospitals under the support of the UIC Department of Surgery: University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences SystemSinai Health SystemAdvocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Adventist Hinsdale Medical Center, and Presence Saint Joseph’s Hospital.

Patients are seen in the Surgery Center’s Pediatric Surgery Clinic at the University of Illinois Hospital’s Outpatient Care Center in Suite 3F. The Outpatient Care Center is located at 1801 W. Taylor, Chicago, IL 60612. Our pediatric surgeons see patients in the pediatric specialty clinic on Monday mornings, Tuesday mornings, and select Friday afternoons.
