Most infants born to the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) are at risk for hearing loss.  Therefore, we evaluate the hearing of these children before they go home.

Extensive research and experience has proven that the earlier a hearing impaired child is identified and provided with the appropriate treatment, the better chance he/she has to develop normal speech and language skills and fulfilling their cognitive, educational, social potential.

By using such measures as the Auditory Brainstem Response and Otoacoustic Emissions, this program is key to early identification of children considered at high risk for hearing loss.
