Applicant Information
Thank you for your interest in the University of Illinois at Chicago Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. Our program only accepts applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), and all positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
Applications will be reviewed, and selected applicants will be invited for an interview. Please respond promptly to interview request, as an invitation to interview does not guarantee an interview spot. Applicants are interviewed during months of November, December and January.

Application Requirements:
1. Completed ERAS application
2. Dean’s Letter
3. USMLE Step 1 Score
4. USMLE Step 2 Score (if available)
5. Personal Statement
6. Letters of recommendation: (At least 3 or 4 letters of recommendation, 1 from
Program Director, optional)
7. Graduation from medical school within the last 7 years.
8. Deadline for Application is October 30th
We do not disclose our minimum score criteria.
International Applicants:
Only applications received through ERAS will be considered, and applicants are
required to be ECFMG certified. The University of Illinois Orthopaedics Program
sponsors J-1 visas only.
