The Education Mission of the Center for Global Health is to improve the health of populations worldwide by training the next generation of global health leaders.

To achieve this, the Center:

Educates residents, students, fellows, faculty and staff about issues in global health, focusing on international collaboration, capacity strengthening, and scholarship.
Offers a Global Medicine Program (GMED) for MD students in the UIC College of Medicine focused on building global health competencies.
Offers a mutli-disciplinary Global Health Program for resident physicians, fellows, and early career faculty focused on building skills in sustainable global health practice.
Provides mentoring and guidance for students and residents who aim to build careers working in global health.

The CGH education leadership team is composed of faculty with a commitment to creating meaningful educational, research, and mentorship opportunities for students and residents. They strive to help trainees gain an in-depth understanding of targeted global health competencies and support development of the skills and understanding required to create a practice on focusing on global health.
