Dr. O'Donnell is semi-retired. His teaching and administrative role with the department continues, and his laboraory has closed. His primary scientific interest has focused on the dysregulation of cardiac metabolism and treatment specific to cardiac hypertrophy, heart failure, ischemia/reperfusion injury, cardiac arrest, and diabetes cardiomyopathy.
