Congratulations to the Jiang Lab for the lasted publication entitled “The Notch-PDGFRβ axis suppresses brown adipocyte progenitor differentiation in early post-natal mice” published in Developmental Cell. Shi and Xiong et al. demonstrate that PDGFRβ+ pericytes give rise to developmental brown adipocytes, essential for BAT development in mice. Moreover, they show inhibiting Notch signaling in these pericytes promotes postnatal brown adipogenesis across multiple BAT depots and alleviates diet-induced juvenile obesity.
