Immune Checkpoints and Autoimmune Stem Cells in Cardiovascular Inflammation
May 3, 2024
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Host: Monica Lee, PhD
Cardiovascular inflammation is a decade-long disease process that involves cells of the innate and adaptive immune system and results in a maladaptive response-to-injury of the vessel wall. This presentation discusses the role of immune checkpoints that control the strength and duration of inflammatory immune responses and explores how stem-like T cells that survive in specialized tissue niches in the vessel wall mediate the chronic and autonomous nature of the disease.
