About
My area of clinical expertise is medical renal disease and transplant pathology. I work with members of the transplant service, including nephrologists, pathologists, and transplant surgeons.
Apart from clinical service, I am the Director of Pathology Informatics within our department. In this role, I lead the development and maintenance of our laboratory information and associated systems, along with my colleagues in Information Services. Together, we are incorporating data analytics, digital imaging, and other technologies to continue delivering high-quality, cost-effective care to our patients.
I am also the Program Director for the ACGME-accredited fellowship in Clinical Informatics at UIC, one of the first ones offered in the country. Our diverse and talented team of informaticists, analysts, and researchers work together to drive clinical, research, and educational innovation and quality improvement using technology. My background in computer science and software engineering offers valuable experience in this role. The field of informatics is rapidly growing and evolving, and I am excited to be a part of the team that is advancing it here at the University of Illinois.
