About
I am a clinical informatics fellow and family medicine physician, and my background includes quality improvement, bioinformatics, and computer science. I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. For my undergraduate education, I pursued a degree in Bioinformatics / Computer Science from Brigham Young University and later obtained my M.D. from the University of Utah. Afterward, I completed my Family Medicine residency at HCA Houston Healthcare West/University of Houston in Houston, Texas. Throughout my residency training, I held various roles. I served as chief resident, University of Houston College of Medicine Accreditation Task Force member, and participant on the Council on Medical Practice for the Texas Academy of Family Physicians. Clinical informatics intrigues me because it integrates systems thinking, technology, quality improvement, and leadership. My professional interests include electronic care pathways, decision support, EHR implementation, interoperability, physician efficiency/documentation optimization, and clinical workflow analysis. Outside work, I enjoy hiking, audiobooks, and spending time with my wife and daughter.
