Dr. Ameet Kini is a board-certified pathologist with over two decades of experience in diagnostic hematopathology. Dr. Kini has extensive expertise in all areas of hematopathology including bone marrow pathology and lymph node pathology. At UIC, Dr. Kini serves as the Director of the Flow Cytometry Laboratory. His research interests include the role of necroptosis in hematologic malignancies such as myelodysplastic syndrome and acute leukemia. Dr. Kini has published in journals including Nature Medicine, Blood, and Leukemia. Dr. Kini is also interested in public policy and risk perception and has published Op-Eds in USA Today and TIME magazine. Dr. Kini is actively involved with national and international professional organizations including the International Clinical Cytometry Society, where serves as Chair of the Outreach Committee.
