Peoria High School Programs
Manual High School Enrichment Program
Medical students provide interactive learning activities for Manual High School students, after school, for 8 weeks, for 2 hours each visit. Medical Students solicit funds from various physicians to pay for feeding the students. There is an educational field trip, after the 8 weeks.
Activities have included: dissecting pig lungs/hearts; suturing pig feet; discussion on STDs; Crime scene investigation; studying diseased hearts/lungs; first aid and CPR, setting casts for broken bones.
Field trips have included visits to UIC cadaver lab in Chicago; ST. Louis Science Center, Brookfield Zoo, Museum of Science & Industry; Shedd Aquarium.
