Former preemies celebrate Halloween at CHUI

"Halloween Happiness," the 2014 reunion of neonatal intensive care graduates, offered games and entertainment, pumpkin decorating and face painting to entertain children previously cared for at the Children's Hospital University of Illinois. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has provided intensive care services to ill newborns since the early 1960s. The NICU is a referral destination for critically ill newborns from other hospitals in Illinois, and includes a 30-bed ICU and a 24-bed intermediate care nursery.

More than 200 people – including 50 graduates of the NICU and their families, nurses, physicians and hospital staff — attended the celebration. The event is made possible by generous donations from Discovery Labs, Friends of Pediatrics and hospital staff.
