Neuropsychology

The Neuropsychology Section is headed by David Nyenhuis, PhD, ABPP-Cn, an Associate Professor and board certified clinical neuropsychologist by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).  Dr. Elizabeth Geary, a postdoctoral fellow, and neuropsychology externs are also part of the section.  Ms. Sherri Volious is the administrative assistant for the section and Ms. Karen Keyes assists with patient scheduling.

The Neuropsychology Section completes outpatient neuropsychological evaluations.  While the examination of stroke-related cognitive impairment is an area of special expertise, we are also experienced in seeing patients with a wide variety of neurological and psychiatric illness, including persons with suspected dementia of all types (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease, Vascular Dementia, Dementia with Lewy Bodies),  persons with cognitive impairments associated with other neurologic illness (e.g., epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis) and persons with a combination of neurologic and psychiatric disorders.  We are also experienced in the completion of forensic examinations and independent medical (neuropsychological) examinations.
