Dr. Tomyanovich is currently the Chief of Neurology Service at Jessie Brown VA Medical Center (formerly Westside and Lakeside VA in Chicago). She is Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology and serves as Vice Head for Veterans Affairs in Neurology at the University of Illinois.
Dr Tomyanovich received her undergraduate degree in Nursing from UIC and her medical degree from Rush Medical College in 1979. She completed her Neurology residency and post-graduate education at Rush University.
Dr. Tomyanovich is board certified in Neurology with added qualifications in Clinical Neurophysiology and is a fellow of the American Association of Neuromuscular And Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
Dr. Tomyanovich has been very involved in neurologic clinical program development as well as committed to education for fellows, residents and student trainees. She has been funded for clinical research in clinical neurophysiology, most recently by the VA for study of epilepsy treatment in an elderly population published in Neurology. Dr. Tomyanovich has been national president of VA Neurologists and is currently serving as chairwoman of the field advisory committee to the national director of VA Neurology. She continues to serve on the JBVA Research and Development Committee. She has hosted the Boards and served as an examiner for Part II on numerous occasions.
