Biographical Info
Emilie Johnson, MD, MPH, is a board-certified pediatric urologist and Visiting Clinical Physician at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Johnson specializes in pediatric urology, working with all ages, from birth to young adults. Dr. Johnson was drawn to urology because it lets her treat a variety of conditions and care for the whole family.
In addition to her clinical work at UIC, Dr. Johnson mentors residents in research. She also practices pediatric urology at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and is an assistant professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Her collaboration with Lurie Children’s Hospital allows her to treat more complex conditions.
She is also active in national professional associations including the American Urological Association and the Pediatric National Surgical Quality Improvement Program. She reviews for the Journal of Urology and the Journal of Pediatric Urology.
Dr. Johnson is certified by the American Board of Urology in both Urology and Pediatric Urology. She completed her medical and general urology training at University of Michigan and her fellowship in pediatric urology at Boston Children’s Hospital. She also received her Master of Public Health in public health and health outcomes at the Harvard School of Public Health, giving her a more global picture of how both the whole family and the health care system affect patients with urologic issues.
