Biographical Info
Dr. Ömer Acar practices in the Department of Urology at UI Health. Dr. Acar specializes in functional and reconstructive urology to treat urologic conditions affecting all genders, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, urethral stricture, neurological and non-neurological causes of lower urinary tract dysfunction, urinary tract fistulae, and sexual dysfunction. Dr. Acar is a fellowship-trained reconstructive surgeon whose primary area of interest covers gender-affirming genital surgery.
He is an active member of prestigious international societies, including American Urological Association, European Association of Urology, International Continence Society, and American College of Surgeons. Dr. Acar is a renowned researcher and has published extensively in peer-review international journals, focusing on functional disorders of the lower urinary tract and genitourinary reconstruction.
