The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) Board of Directors approved $1.75 million to fund the research of 14 anesthesiologists and trainees, who represent 11 academic institutions and medical centers. With this funding, FAER, a 501c3 non-profit and related organization of the ASA, will have committed nearly $30 million to anesthesiology and perioperative research since 2000.
“The anesthesiologists who receive our grants represent the future of medicine and will bring about improvements in patient care,” said Joy Hawkins, M.D., chair of the FAER Board of Directors. “The discoveries this group of awardees will make throughout their careers will allow us to be better doctors, train better doctors and provide the highest quality care imaginable.”
