UIC Anesthesiology Traveled Around the Nation for Anesthesiology Spring Conference Season
UIC Anesthesiology has been quite busy traveling to many regional and national conferences to share ideas and contribute to shape the future of our specialty. Our students, residents, fellows, and faculty were involved in all aspects of presentation and leadership in our major anesthesiology societies.
The Spring Conference Trifecta started with a very successful showing at the Midwest Anesthesiology Resident Conference (MARC 2023) in Milwaukee, WI. There were 15 resident and student presentations, of which 5 won awards.
Next stop, we went to celebrate 100 years of Regional Anesthesia at the 48th Annual Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine (ASRA) Meeting in Hollywood, FL. Faculty, residents, students, and alumni were totally engaged. The following was presented by our resident speaker:
Andrew Ta, MD
EFFECTIVENESS OF AN OPIOID AVOIDANCE PROTOCOL FOR POSTOPERATIVE PAIN CONTROL IN LIVER TRANSPLANT PATIENTS
The final stop took us to the 55th Annual Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology Conference (SOAP) in New Orleans, LA. UIC Anesthesiology presented interesting cases, served as judges and assumed leadership positions. The following is a list of our resident speakers:
Jace Battrell, MD
AMNIOTIC FLUID EMBOLISM: AN ATYPICAL PRESENTATION

COMPLEX MULTI-DISCIPLINARY DECISION MAKING FOR A PARTURIENT WITH PULMONARY FIBROSIS AND CYSTIC BRONCHIECTASIS: DELIVERY TIMING AND SAFETY
