Two papers published this month

We published two papers online this month! One paper, led by Gongyu, was published in Nucleic Acids Research entitled "OncoDB: an interactive online database for analysis of gene expression and viral infection in cancer".  The other paper, led by Xinyi, was published in International Journal of Cancer entitled "Impact of Human Papillomavirus on the Tumor Microenvironment in Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma".

NIH Grant Renewal on miRNA Research

We have received an NIH R35 grant (2021-2026) to support our ongoing project: "Combined Computational and Experimental Analyses of Gene Regulation by MicroRNAs". This project has been continuously funded by the NIH since 2010, and results from this impactful work have been cited by thousands of publications.

NIH Grant on COVID-19 Screening

We received an NIH RADx pilot grant on COVID-19 screening using our newly developed RT-LAMP assays. This project is in collaboration with Dr. Nahed Ismail from Department of Pathology.

Grant Award on COVID-19 Diagnosis

We received the UIC Chancellor’s Translational Research Initiative (CTRI) Award to develop a saliva-based diagnostic assay for COVID-19 screening. Xin is the PI of this grant.
