The UI Health Department of Radiology is pleased to announce that Dr. Ron C. Gaba, MD, MS has been appointed to the position of Assistant Dean in the University of Illinois College of Medicine and will be overseeing the college’s many dual-degree offerings. These programs include but are not limited to the MD/MBA, MD/MPH, and MD/MS in Bioengineering programs. In addition, Dr. Gaba will retain his position in the College of Medicine as the Director of Medical Student Research and the responsibilities of said position.

Dr. Gaba completed his medical degree at the University of Michigan in 2002 and his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2007. He completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Northwestern University in 2008 before joining our Department of Radiology. While a full-time employee at UICOM, he completed a master’s degree in Clinical and Translational Sciences.
Being active as both a physician at UI Health for the past 14 years, and full Professor in the College of Medicine, Dr. Gaba has extensive experience leading research teams, and has managed several federally-funded research projects. His position as Vice Head for research in radiology will be of great benefit both to the college and the students training under him.
