Appointment of Department Head of Radiology
Introduction
The University of Illinois College of Medicine is pleased to formally announce the appointment of Dr. Michael Evan Bresler as the Head of the Department of Radiology.
Dr. Bresler is an accomplished academic radiologist and educator with extensive experience in clinical practice, administration, and medical training. He currently serves as a Professor of Clinical Radiology and has held numerous leadership roles within the department, including Interim Head, Acting Head, and Executive Vice Head .
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Bresler has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing radiologic services, fostering academic excellence, and strongly supporting interdisciplinary collaboration. His prior leadership roles reflect his proven ability to guide complex clinical and academic programs. He has also made substantial contributions to the College of Medicine, including chairing the College Committee on Student Promotions for several years.
Dr. Bresler’s contributions to medicine and education have been widely recognized through multiple honors, including repeated designation as a Top Doctor and several Teacher of the Year awards .
The College is confident that Dr. Bresler’s leadership will further strengthen the Department of Radiology’s mission in delivering exceptional patient care, advancing research, and educating future physicians.
