Promotion: Emrah Er, PhD
Introduction
Congratulations to Dr. Emrah Er on the promotion to the rank of Associate Professor on Indefinite Tenure.
Emrah joined the UIC faculty in 2019 and has focused his research on the identification of molecular mechanisms that regulate the stiffness of cancer cells and the mechanosurveillance of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment in order to develop new therapeutic approaches. Dr. Er's innovative research direction has gained broadly positive appraisals consistent with his outstanding research funding portfolio including an NIH R37 and ACS RSG.
His promotion is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Dr. Er, from research to teaching to service! His collaborative and team-building skills are now contributing to our department-wide effort to define new areas in tumor physiology research.
