Our research utilizes advanced mouse models to investigate the molecular mechanisms of Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT), a genetic disorder characterized by malformed blood vessels. We aim to dissect the key signaling pathways and factors that drive the formation of these vascular lesions in the retina and brain, and lead to vascular integrity deficits. Using high-resolution genomic sequencing, we have identified various factors with roles in promoting lesion development and demonstrate that targeting various pathways with pharmacologics can prevent and in some cases actively restore health to diseased vasculature, offering a promising path toward new therapies.
