K99/R00 Title: The Role of GCN2 in Ponatinib-Induced Cardiotoxicity
Gege’s future research plan:
I focus on the critical role of the integrated stress response (ISR) kinase GCN2 in the development of ponatinib-induced cardiotoxicity during chronic myeloid leukemia treatment. My future research will focus on investigating the contribution of ponatinib kinase targets to the GCN2-ISR cardiotoxicity pathway, with the potential to extend these findings to other tyrosine kinase inhibitors currently in use or in development. Ultimately, my goal is to advance cardio-oncology through the development of interventions that reduce drug-induced cardiotoxicity while supporting effective cancer therapy and improving patient outcomes.
