About

Dr. Rajni Ahlawat, MBBS, MD, FAAP, is a Visiting Associate Professor and Associate Chief of the section of Pediatric Gastroenterology. She has active interests in teaching medical students and residents, and her clinical interests include pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition.

From 2020 to the present, Dr. Ahlawat was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. She was an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2017-20.

Dr. Ahlawat completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Lady Hardinge Medical College in India. She completed a pediatric residency and a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, N.Y. Dr. Ahlawat also completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. She is certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Ahlawat’s research interests include celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, nutrition, and eosinophilic esophagitis. She has published more than 15 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts. She serves as a peer reviewer and editorial board member for many national and international journals.
