Dr. Karolina Plonowska-Hirschfeld is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She specializes in the management of benign and malignant head and neck conditions, with advanced expertise in microvascular and reconstructive surgery following cancer treatment.
Dr. Plonowska-Hirschfeld completed her internship, residency, and medical school training at the University of California – San Francisco, followed by fellowship training in Advanced Head & Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at Washington University in St. Louis.
Her clinical approach focuses on delivering compassionate, high-quality care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. She is also actively involved in research aimed at helping patients maintain function and quality of life after cancer treatment, with her work published in multiple journals and presented nationally.
