Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS)
Division Overview
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine (COM) and University of Illinois Health (UI Health) system. Our MIGS division is committed to delivering superior, patient-centered surgical care utilizing the most recent advancements in minimally invasive and state-of-the-art robotic technologies.
Surgical techniques that facilitate smaller incisions, enhance surgical precision, and promote expedited recovery periods are part of the future. These minimal surgical methodologies are linked to diminished pain, a reduction in complications, abbreviated hospital stays, and the capacity for numerous patients to return home on the same day as their procedure.
Our World Class MIGS division offers thorough evaluation and treatment for various gynecologic conditions, including endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and chronic pelvic pain. We collaborate with other UI Health specialists in urogynecology, general surgery, pediatric and adolescent gynecology and reproductive endocrinology to offer multidisciplinary comprehensive care. In addition to clinical care, UI Health and the UIC-COM are dedicated to furthering the field through rigorous research and educational initiatives.
Warmest regards,
Joseph Maurice MD
