On March 11-12, 2025, University of Minnesota BIRCWH Scholar Dr. Mary Whipple came to the University of Illinois Chicago as its first Midwest Visiting Scholar. She presented her research to current BIRCWH Scholars. The Visiting Scholar Program is a newly launched initiative within the Midwest BIRCWH to facilitate communication and development among the Scholars of the four main sites. Other BIRCWH Programs include the University of Wisconsin – Madison, the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, and Mayo Clinic.
