Feasibility of a Meditation App for Youth Legal Professionals: Pilot Trial Protocol
Feasibility Testing a Meditation App for Professionals Working With Youth in the Legal System: Protocol for a Hybrid Type 2 Effectiveness-Implementation Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial
Dr. Ashley D. Kendall and CDIS faculty members are leading a new study evaluating Bodhi AIM+, a meditation app tailored for professionals working with youth in the legal system. The study, published in JMIR Research Protocols, uses a remote, randomized controlled trial to test how the app impacts stress management and emotional regulation.
The pilot will involve 50 participants over 30 days, with engagement tracked through app analytics and ecological momentary assessments (EMAs). Outcomes will include mental health, app adherence, and user feedback.
Why it matters: These frontline professionals often experience intense stress and burnout. This study explores how digital mindfulness tools can provide scalable, real-time support, contributing to healthier workplaces and better care for system-involved youth.
