Medicine-Geriatrics Pathway Training Program
The Medicine-Geriatrics Pathway is a four-year training program for internal medicine (IM) and family medicine (FM) residents who are interested in pursuing a career in geriatrics.
- Provides mentorship and guidance from geriatrics faculty throughout the residency program and subsequent fellowship
- Four-year program meeting board certification requirements in IM/FM and Geriatric Medicine
- Longitudinal panels in care settings including assisted living, skilled nursing facilities, and geriatric clinic
- The only program in Chicagoland that combines academic and VA experience
- Dedicated didactics, case presentations, and journal clubs
- Scholarship opportunities in geriatrics-related QI and research
- Exposure to various career paths as a Geriatrician, including Medical Director, consultant, SNFist, and PCP
