Dr. Gabriel Pollock Selected As A 2016 SEA-HVO Traveling Fellowship Recipient

March 23, 2016

Current Chief Resident Gabriel Pollock, MD has been selected as a recipient of the 2016 SEA-HVO Traveling Fellowship Award. The SEA-HVO Fellowship is co-sponsored by the Society for Education in Anesthesia and Health Volunteers Overseas. The Fellowship provides anesthesia residents the opportunity to improve anesthesia care in developing countries by teaching and mentoring their counterparts. Senior residents who have been approved after applying for a SEA-HVO Traveling Fellowship will spend three to four weeks teaching anesthesia in a developing country. The SEA-HVO Fellows will learn about diseases which are rare in the United States while also learning to communicate with people from different cultures. They will be exposed to the realities and constraints of delivering health care in an austere, resource-scarce environment. Fellows will function as teachers of anesthesia and as role models for the anesthesia students at the site. Congratulations, Gabe!
