Taking tangible steps toward preparing tomorrow’s health science workforce

The Health Science Learning Exchange (HSLE) has already made a measurable impact on the health science education and career aspirations of Illinois students.


HSLE works because it combines the efforts of key community members toward the common goal of encouraging students to choose STEM careers. The following entities have engaged with or been recipients of HSLE work:
  • 214 high schools
  • 38 four-year universities or colleges
  • 10 community colleges
  • 22 private businesses
  • 10 industry associations
  • 7 state education economic development agencies
  • 5 labor unions
  • 5 professional associations
