About
Alisha grew up in Northwest Indiana, in an area otherwise known as “Duneland” due to the area’s proximity to the Indiana Dunes. She attended Yale College for her undergraduate studies, studying Biophysics and Biochemistry and as a member of the varsity crew team. Alisha then went on to complete medical school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. While at Johns Hopkins she was a part of the Global Health Leadership Track, focusing on immigration/LGBTQ health, and spent a year in Bordeaux, France on a Fulbright Fellowship obtaining a Masters in Public Health Data Science. Alisha’s master’s thesis focused on using random forest models to predict mental health outcomes in college students. Alisha has a longitudinal interest in medical humanities and narrative medicine, having published in the Hopkins Pancea Arts Journal as well the Biomedical Odyssey Blog. In Chicago Alisha has thus far enjoyed experimental cinema screenings, classics book club, practicing languages, triathlon training, learning to fiddle, and finding Indian and Polish cultural events for both sides of her heritage.
