Emergency

When emergency care is needed, especially in potentially life-threatening circumstances, or when students are experiencing suicidal thoughts or exhibiting other signs of serious depression, faculty and students are urged to immediately contact:

  • UIC Counseling Center at 312-996-3490 between 8:30am-5:00pm (please identify the emergency nature of your call).
  • After-Hours Crisis Counselor available outside of Counseling Center Business hours 312-996-3490 (select option 2).
  • Suicide and Crisis Hotline (988). 988 is a three-digit dialing code that routes callers to the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Simply call or text to 988.
