Chicago High School Programs
Annual Med Day – the COM-UHP, in conjunction with the UIC Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), host an Annual Med Day for high school students with an interest in a career in medicine. Students participate in anatomy and pathology lab hands-on demonstrations and presentations; learn how to take blood pressure and heart rates; attend healthy lifestyle workshop on nutrition and meet current medical students and hear their pathway to a career in medicine.
Bridging the Gap – Emerging Health Issues in Underrepresented Minorities
High school students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities, discover pathways to becoming a doctor, explore health issues affecting minority communities and network with current physicians, medical students and undergraduates.
Urban Health Program Health Professions Conference
High school students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities and learn about careers in from Urban Health Programs in Applied Health Sciences, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and much more. This conference is organized by the Office of the UHP Executive Director.
