PREREQUISITES AND PLACEMENT IN THE CURRICULUM: Must have completed the M3 Internal Medicine Clerkship.
PURPOSE: This elective in nephrology allows the student to choose a rotation at University Hospital or JBVA for a four-week period where the students will actively participate in consult rounds. In this setting, they see a variety of renal problems and learn the differential diagnosis of renal disease and the indications for dialysis.
INSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES: Students will participate in one clinic a week at the site they are rotating at. In addition, they will attend the Davison’s weekly conferences, which include journal club, clinical conference, radiology and research conferences.
