Infectious Diseases – UI Health/JBVA

PREREQUISITES AND PLACEMENT IN THE CURRICULUM:
Satisfactory completion of all M3 core clerkships.

PURPOSE:
Develop knowledge of Clinical Infectious Diseases.

COMPETENCIES: 

INSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES:
The students function as Infectious Diseases consultants on the inpatient service and clinic of either the UICMC or JBVA, and they will follow their patients throughout the hospital course. Daily rounds will involve the presentation of patients and bedside teaching by I.D. faculty and fellows. Weekly topic reviews, Clinical Microbiology Rounds, and I.D. Clinical case presentations are included.
