Rotation Projects

My laboratory focuses on regeneration of penile smooth muscle and peripheral nerve regeneration in animal models of erectile dysfunction caused by prostate cancer treatment, diabetes and aging. We are developing a nanoparticle based delivery vehicle (peptide amphiphile) for proteins to the penis and cavernous nerve to promote regeneration. Potential rotations include: 1) Analysis of morphological changes in penis tissue from transgender patients. 2) Examining how effective delivery of proteins by peptide amphiphile are in an aging rat model. 3) Development of a rat model of male stress urinary incontinence. 4) Analysis of Sonic hedgehog pathway signaling in patient muscle tissue.
