Dr. Joan Stelmack has been named 2014 Veteran’s Administration Optometrist of the year by the Armed Forces Optometric Society.
Joan Stelmack, OD, MPH, Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of the IEEI Low Vision Service, has a primary appointment at the Edward Hines, Jr. Veteran’s Affairs Hospital and is a consultant to the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. She is a member of the Armed Forces Optometric Society whose mission is to advance, enhance, and improve the eye care patients receive from optometrists in federal service, to improve the art and science of the practice of optometry and elevate the standards of the practice.
This award recognizes Dr. Stelmack’s outstanding service and contribution to the practice of optometry.
