Department of Radiology is pleased to announce that Dr. Lauren Green is the 2022 recipient of the Diversity Career Development Award from the Faculty Subcommittee of HEPP (Health Equity Pilot Project). Dr Green is receiving this award for her research entitled, “Identifying Lesser-Known Barriers to Breast Care and Video Intervention to Improve Compliance.”

The Faculty & Staff Development Committee of HEPP seeks proposals from Black, LatinX, or Native American/Pacific Islander University of Illinois College of Medicine Assistant or Associate Professors interested in applying for funding to support a project/initiative.The award recipient must complete their project within 12 months of receiving their award. Dr. Green will receive a $20,000 award.

Dr. Lauren Green is Co-Chair of the Center for Breast Care and Division Head of Breast Imaging at UI health. She specializes in breast imaging, body imaging, and diagnostic imaging. Dr. Lauren Green attended Princeton University in New Jersey for her undergraduate degree and the University of Illinois at Chicago for medical school. Dr. Lauren Green completed her residency at UIC and her fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer in New York and her internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Dr Green has co-authored multiple research papers including “Implementation of an integrated framework for a breast cancer screening and navigation program for women from under resourced communities.”
