Dr. Eslani joined the Stem Cell Therapy and Corneal Tissue-Engineering Lab under the supervision of Dr. Ali R. Djalilian in March 2012.  He has substantial teaching experience, mentoring medical students as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students at UIC.  Dr. Eslalni has published over 35 articles in leading peer-reviewed journals highlighting his various research projects. He is an invited reviewer for several scientific journals including the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Cornea,  the British Journal of Ophthalmology, Current Eye Research, and Experimental Eye Research.  In September 2014, Dr. Eslani was selected to join the UIC K-12 Independent Clinical Vision Scientist Development Program under the leadership of Dean Dimitri Azar and joined the faculty.  The K-12 program is funded by the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health. His current research is focused on the use of Mesenchymal stem cells for ocular surface reconstruction.
